Today Pre-K and Jr. K had a virtual visit from The Science Guy. We learned all about the body parts of a spider. The kids got to look at some different spiders in a glass case. We talked about spiders having 8 legs and they are arachnids. We then got into a circle and we created a spider web 🕸 out of rope. We finished by creating our own spiders using clay, pipe cleaners, a paper clip and googly eyes.

Pre-Kindergarten had a blast during Early Art Masters today! The artist today was Alexander Calder who created many moving sculptures. We looked at one of his pieces of art titled “Untiltled” created in 1945.
We discussed his use of organic shapes. Organic shapes means that the shapes do not have names because they are made up from your imagination, they are all unique! Alexander Calder really loved to make up his own shapes and create moving sculptures with them!
Look at all these little artists!
Here’s a peak at all the fun learning going on in each of our classrooms at 10:30 am! We love this time of day because it can be so different from room to room! There can be art, math, reading or thumbs up happening depending on the classroom!
Also, I hope you love flannel, because today is our favorite day...FLANNEL FRIDAY!
