We welcome your visit and are committed to giving you the best service to meet your needs, whether that be for books, music, gifts or homeschooling supplies, we strive to be the store that you think of first. Our son, Daniel Probasco, will be engaging both kids and parents with remote-controlled Lego robots at the HIM Expo on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11. Parents can sign their kids up for a new robotics class he is beginning soon! HIM Homeschool Fair March 1, 2017 at 3:45 PM · VENDOR SPOTLIGHT (Please SHARE this post with all your Lego-loving friends!) We are excited to have Daniel Probasco and NEXT-LEVEL LEGOS exhibiting at the HIM Expo again this year. His booth is always one of the most popular, and you can see why in the photos below! Last year, Daniel brought this cool mechanical color sorter (pictured) that he designed and built completely with Legos. It was fascinating to see all the colored gumballs go into the cup exactly designated for their color. WOW!! Super fun to watch! And the kids loved driving the simple remote-control robots that Daniel built and brought. (Shhh...I hear he may be bringing several Lego robots again this year!) Daniel is passionate about robotics and all things mechanical. He is currently a Mechanical Engineering student at Colorado State University, and he is working his way through school in part by teaching robotics classes for kids. His current class has been meeting for 2 years, and the kids have learned so much about design and engineering...gearing, innovation, friction, torque, and other engineering concepts. More importantly, they have learned incredible life skills: creativity, problem solving, meeting deadlines, dreaming big, listening, competing with graciousness and full effort, patience, self-control, and teamwork (oh, yes... and cleaning up your mess when you are done!). Come to the HIM Expo to meet Daniel and learn about his classes. Your kids will be SO GLAD you did!! ;) Please SHARE this post! And LIKE/FOLLOW our HIM Homeschool Fair Facebook page. So excited to have Cheri Fruits who has her MA in Literacy speak at the HIM Expo on both Friday and Saturday. If you know of someone with a kiddo who is struggling to learn, come hear Cheri! HIM Homeschool Fair March 9, 2017 at 3:27 AM · INTRODUCING...workshop speaker CHERI FRUITS presenting two workshops at the HIM Expo this weekend, one on Friday called "Help for Struggling Learners" and one on Saturday called "Raising a Reader". We are thrilled and honored to have Cheri speak; Moms and Dads alike will benefit from her seminars! Cheri is currently a home school mom of three girls, 9, 6, and an infant. She is also a private tutor for half a dozen children with varying degrees of dyslexia. Prior to becoming a mom, Cheri was a special education and elementary education teacher with a Master’s Degree in Literacy. Cheri says, “I am blessed to be able to use my prior experiences to help other homeschool families choose the right curriculum, and I love helping parents find ways to empower their children to have a love of learning for a lifetime.” A young mom heard Cheri speak last fall, and she immediately came to me and said, "You HAVE to get Cheri to come speak for the homeschool parents at the HIM Expo! She was amazing!" So, thanks, Cheri, for agreeing to bless us with your encouragement and wisdom! SHARE this post to invite your friends to hear Cheri. And LIKE HIM Homeschool Fair Facebook page. The HIM Homeschool Fair has been hosted by our family for the last ten years. We are blessed to get to work shoulder to shoulder with all our kids this year. Some of them are speaking in workshops, one of them is an exhibitor, all of them are volunteering, and we are going to have the best time hanging out and blessing people. I love our "Together Family"!! HIM Homeschool Fair March 8, 2017 at 4:00 AM · HISTORY MINUTE These are the faces of the HIM Homeschool Expo. Yes, they are our very best HIM volunteers...but more importantly, they are our children and the God-given reasons we embarked on our homeschooling journey so long ago. For the last 20+ years, we Probascos have called ourselves "The Together Family"...and that togetherness was due in large part to being a homeschooling family. In all that "togetherness" we formed deep, lasting bonds of love and respect that have carried us through hard times, good times, and all the times in between. It was at a homeschool conference 23 years ago when God gave Bart and me a vision of generational faithfulness. We didn't know all that meant at the time, but we knew the first responsibility was focusing time, God-given wisdom, and energy on raising our kids. We longed for them to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ and to love others. We told them, "You are each others' best friends." (And they believed us!!) And they truly became the best of friends. Homeschooling was the biggest part of how we discipled our family in the daily walk and talk of life. We thank God SO MUCH for the blessing of having our kids home all those days, and all those years. Now we are grandparents, and we are beginning to see what it's like to watch generational faithfulness unfold to the next layer. God is doing something good...and beautiful...and new. HE IS FAITHFUL. Homeschooling has made such a difference in our lives and continues to bear good fruit in countless ways. That's a big part of why we invest so much time and energy in the HIM Expo...we want to support others in their homeschool journey just as others supported us along the way. It's one way we can give back to a community that matters to us.
