James G Montagnino (Jim) is a vastly experienced and accomplished, Engineering, Marketing & Operations Executive, with extensive leadership, business development, product innovation, Asian sourcing/procurement, strategic planning and project management skills in Consumer Products, Business Machines, Scientific Instruments, Aero Space & Tool/Machine. Jim created and incorporated Production Engineered Designs, Inc. in 1992 seeking to develop through innovation/ideation new products and technologies for companies seeking a brand leadership role by bringing category innovation to the marketplace using his broad spectrum of qualifications consisting of Extensive experience in all aspects of marketing/engineering/product development, international sourcing/supply chain and management, with specialization in the consumer appliance industry. During The Space race of the 1960’s @ Perkin-Elmer, Jim had the privilege to work as a team member under the direction of Wernher von Braun (was a German and American aerospace engineer and space architect), where he learned the philosophy “don’t tell me what you cannot do, tell me what you can do!” . He was one of the leading figures in the development of rocket technology in Germany during World War II and, subsequently, in the United States. He is credited as being one of the "Fathers of Rocket Science". During his tenures at Clairol, Helen of Troy, Sunbeam & Tanita, Jim managed more than 40 product introductions annually. James has Exceptional focus and follow through abilities, with a record of efficiency and productivity. He collaborates effectively with clients, colleagues, OEM suppliers, research & ID firms at all levels. James is a detail oriented multi-tasker, with exemplary organization and project management skills. He is a Strategic thinker and planner, skilled in the design and execution of effective engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and business programs, that generated double digit sales increases through new product introductions during the past 50 years. James always demonstrates expertise in international business relations & OEM sourcing. Mr. Montagnino has worked on many interesting projects such as the Saturn Space Program dealing with optics, and panoramic reconnaissance systems used during the Vietnam War, as well as the first Orbital Reconnaissance systems, the first Video Technologies for CBS, Electronic Mailing Systems for Pitney Bowes, scale technologies (weighing, body fat & body composition) for Tanita Corp. of Japan, Healthometer, and weigh on the fly for Pitney Bowes mailing systems, personal care (hair, cosmetic, massage, therapeutic, skin), humidification/air technologies and personal wellness systems for Sharper Image, Helen of Troy, Sunbeam, Clairol and KAZ. He has a network of Asian partners that he deals with and has previously worked with the Hong Kong Manufactures Association. James runs the day to day operations of the company including R&D and the manufacturing of the products he designs and holds 131 issued patents with 19 more that are pending.
