Our patient had a cooking accident and experienced a ring finger fracture that required multiple surgeries.

Her flexion in that finger became very limited but now after some rehab sessions in conjunction with the orthosis, she is closer to making a fist! We are so happy with the progress she’s made so far!

Ankle manual perturbations 👣
This patient had a right ankle ORIF. These exercises help with ankle instability. The application of perturbations (externally applied unanticipated forces used to disturb physical movement patterns) has been clinically proven to improve balance, joint stability, postural control and longer-term success with return-to-activity programs.

This is an effective exercise that you can use to activate and strengthen your external rotator muscles (Infraspinatus and Ters Minor)
These exercises will be very humbling. You don’t need, nor will you be able to handle a lot of weight or resistance. 🙅🏼♀️🙅🏾
The external rotators are relatively small muscles and require strength endurance as opposed to maximal strength! 💥

Did you know we use rice in hand therapy sometimes? 🤔
This patient had a finger tip amputation resulting in hypersensitivity and stiffness. Therapeutic exercises with rice can help with desensitization and increasing digit range of motion. 👌🏻
