Thank you Justin! "This is an amazing practice focused on patient care and rehab. Dr. Karyn Staples and her skilled, experienced staff were able to help me recover from an ACL repair so that I could train and complete my first Ironman. Because of her knowledge and skills they were able to accomplish this safely and effectively and I have been able to return to full physical activity including running, cycling and soccer with absolutely no complications. I can't thank them enough for their care and dedication to their patients and for what they have done for me." - Justin S.

In our traditional healthcare system, a symptom is prescribed a pill, which has a side effect, which creates another issue/symptom, which is prescribed another pill - a vicious cycle. It becomes this big puzzle of how to fit the pieces to manage all of the symptoms and medications. These pieces can then be overwhelming, because you're only seeing parts of the picture. So what is the whole picture of health?

Terri W., Pilates Teacher, says ""It is very rewarding to watch your clients improve on a weekly basis, which improves their lives and their mental health. In the Building Better Bone Health class, I always ask if anyone has good energy to share. I love hearing the stories of the ""a-ha"" moments when they realize they are so much stronger. One participant shared recently that her husband had a small step stool that he would have to put in front of the passenger truck door for her to step on, to get into the truck. And when they went to go leave to do their errands the other day, he came out and she was already in the cab, and needed no stepping stool or his help. She was so happy and her husband was very impressed. (Photo Credit: Marie Thomas) #WeLoveOurPeople #ProHealthPTC

Julie Anne, Pilates teacher, says she loves assisting others in moving and feeling better. She says it is so fulfilling to see the improvements and the joy when people realize they can do something they never thought they would be able to do! One of Julie Anne's favorite work experiences was a client who came to ProHealth who has significant movement limitations with several fractures and injuries that had perpetuated limited movement. She worked with her for a few years. One day the client came to class and said that the previous weekend she was at the lake house. She saw her daughter and 9-year-old granddaughter sitting down on the edge of the dock. In the past, she would have stayed up at the house and just watched, knowing she couldn't join them; but this time, she went down to the dock and sat on the edge, and later got up off the edge like it was no big deal. As she told Julie Anne this, she had tears in her eyes. She said, "So, thank you for that." but the thing is, she is the one did the work to get herself to enjoy being present and not limited by her body. This is what it's all about -- adding to life and breaking away limitations through both movement and belief. Photo credit: Marie Thomas. #WeLoveOurPeople #ProHealthPTC

Office Administator Angela says what she loves best about working at ProHealth are the people who make it an awesome place. "Their expertise and excitement for their craft is contagious." Whether she is witnessing someone smile and stride on a new hip/knee/prosthetic/etcetera with encouragement from our PTs, seeing the strength in our Pilates clients while being challenged by our Pilates instructors, or listening to our front desk staff get to know patients on a personal level - she is forever grateful and humbled by such an amazing group of women. One of her favorite work memories was watching Becca work with a young boy. The boy came in very apprehensive and shy, but Becca had him walking around, playing ball, and laughing shortly into their appointment. "Even Mom was smiling as she was experiencing a sense of peace and relief after having been through surgery with her very young son. It was just one of those moments where you were so very proud of your colleague! Our PTs bring out the best in their patients but it's not often you get to hear a laugh that tells you just how much their attention means to someone." Alexa F, Pilates Teacher, says, "I love so much about my ProHealth family! What I love most is the welcoming environment and how everyone is always so willing to help one another. I also love my clients and seeing their transformations. It is so much fun to explore new movements and see the joy on my clients face when they accomplish and feel good after a new movement." Alexa started working at ProHealth when she was 15 years old as a rehabilitation technician, she transitioned into a patient experience specialist while in high school. At the start of college, she went through the Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program at ProHealth in 2019. As she moved into her student teaching phase for her education bachelor’s degree she transitioned to be a Pilates Teacher. Rebecca O., PT, DPT, loves getting to know new people and helping them achieve their goals at ProHEalth. "There is nothing better than helping someone learn how to move in a pain free way."
"I once worked with a client recovering from hip surgery who was extremely fearful of going up and down the stairs. After several months of working together on strengthening and coordination, he was able to conquer the stairs without any fear or hesitation. It was such a rewarding experience to help him reach his goals and better access his environment." (Photo Credit: Leticia Andrade) #WeLoveOurPeople #ProHealthPTC
Bethany N., PT, DPT loves the work-life balance ProHealth offers. And she loves the variety of client presentations/diagnoses that she gets to see at ProHealth. Variety is the spice of life! She says it keeps her intellectually stimulated on a daily basis. She also love the competence level of her co-workers, knowing that "her" clients will be taken care of no matter who they get treated by at ProHealth. Bethany's favorite Pilates exercise is Reverse Abdominals on the Reformer because she can really feel her abs work and get sore from this exercise. Hundreds is her favorite mat exercise for the same reason. She always loves it when a client with lower extremity amputation gets skilled and confident enough to walk for the first time with a cane through the lobby and she can see the pride and hope on their face, knowing they've made a big accomplishment. "Brenda M., Pilates Teacher, says, ""I love how caring we are with our patients/clients. The staff has the best interests of everyone who enters our door in mind. As a Pilates Instructor, I am briefed about any patient who transitions to Pilates after rehab. I know why they entered rehab, what stage of rehab they are in, guidelines for Pilates exercises, contraindications, etc. As for a Pilates client, I can discuss their prior instructors and beginner, intermediate, or advanced so the transition between instructors is seamless. I love my coworkers also! From the owner, Karyn, to the support staff. Everyone wants to help each other whenever possible and share their expertise.""
""I have found great satisfaction working with clients of all fitness levels to realign their posture. As a Pilates instructor at ProHealth, I have assisted clients in correcting shoulders that round forward allowing the chest to cave in, posture related lower back pain, faulty movement patterns after shoulder surgery, and the damaging effects of time or bad postural habits."" "
"Ashley M., PTA loves that at ProHealth she is able to interact with so many different people and assist them in making positive changes in their lives, whether that is decreasing pain or symptoms they are experiencing or introducing them to Pilates. At ProHealth she feels that we are really looking at a client's lifestyle as a whole and adjusting certain areas as needed for the betterment of the client.
She says her favorite work experience was when she worked with a client who came to ProHealth for pelvic pain. She made improvements towards her goals but was still struggling with a few factors affecting her pain levels and daily activities. ""Together we were able to look at all aspects of her life and address the topics that she has struggled to improve on in the past without the help of another person. Simple things like gratitude journaling, breathwork, and overall introducing movement to her body made the difference that she needed to reach her goals in her time here. All staff will be wearing a face covering and we recommend that you wear one when entering the facility and getting situated before your session and all sessions will be 50 minutes in length to allow for less overlap between clients, more time for cleaning the area after the session, and handwashing time for both the client and instructor. We ask all clients to enter the building no more than 5 minutes prior to your scheduled session to minimize overlap. Please wash your hands first thing upon entering the building.

Good News: Caitlin has just found out she has been accepted to the Mercer University Physical Therapy class of 2024, she starts in August 2021. “As a dental hygienist, I was looking down all day and in the evenings I would just feel so uncomfortable,” Brenda says. She saw a chiropractor regularly and did many other things to try to feel better.
A colleague had received physical therapy at ProHealth Physical Therapy and Pilates Studio in Peachtree City. The coworker’s therapist suggested she maintain her progress by taking Pilates classes. Brenda agreed to go to that first class with her.
