About

"OUR WEST BLOOMFIELD, MICHIGAN STORY"
"Provision Living at West Bloomfield opened in early 2019, three years after we began working with the local school system to acquire the site of the closed Ealy Elementary School. We were inspired by the fact that this location on Maple Ave had been such a vital part of the lives of local children, families, and neighbors for close to 50 years. We are honored to be part of this thriving local community and to have the opportunity to add to the legacy of growth, life, and well-being that has occurred on this site. As both owner and the operator of Provision Living at West Bloomfield, we are investing in great people, innovative care and safety technology, and resources to help support families of older adults. This community employs approximately 80 local team members, partner with numerous local businesses, support local community causes, and proudly pays local property taxes. We see ourselves as a vital part of creating a thriving local community."

At the turn of the 20th century, popcorn in a movie theater was unheard of. By the 1930s, the snack was introduced as a business move to survive the Great Depression. And by the mid-1940s, there was no turning back—popcorn and movie theaters were committed to a long-term relationship, like it or not. There was no separating a movie theater from its buttery gold, which eventually held a starring role in the movie concession ads of the 1960s, and here at Provision Living, we enjoy freshly popped corn during our weekly Saturday Matinees!

No one knows your loved one better than you. If your gut tells you that something is off with your family member, trust it. Spend some time observing their behaviors and daily living situations, ask questions, and take notes on what you see. Then, follow up with a doctor as soon as possible. In tribute to all Italian Americans, the US Congress designated the month of October 1989 as "Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month." We're celebrating by taking "Armchair Adventures" throughout the country of Italy this month. For our first journey, we travelled through the region of Tuscany and olive vineyards while enjoying Kalamata Olive Tapenade made in our own kitchen. Join us this week in 'la Cucina' to learn how to make Limoncello Cake, then journey to the Amalfi Coast, where limoncello is celebrated and made.

Select a few dishes that you've never made before or try to put a new spin on some classics. The next time you see your family member, consider combing through their finances to get a holistic view of their monthly expenditures. You may find that the amount of money they're spending per month is comparable or more than that of a senior living community. French dip: a sandwich traditionally consisting of sliced roast beef, served on French bread, and eaten au jus. According to Philippe Mathieu, founder of the Los Angeles restaurant, The Original, he invented the sandwich in 1918 when he accidently dropped a French roll into a juice-filled roasting pan, and the customer said he would eat the “dipped” sandwich anyway. However it happened to be invented, we enjoy the sandwiches here at Provision Living served with a side of freshly homemade chips!
