Attorney Spotlight: Tim Priest This week we would like to spotlight one of our partners, Tim Priest. Tim was born in Humboldt, Tennessee, and admitted to the Bar in 1976. He is a Cum Laude graduate of The University of Tennessee (B.S. 1972) and The University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D.,Valedictorian and Order of the Coif, 1975). He is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association Board of Governors (1993-95 and 2005-2007) and American Bar Association. He is a Master of the Bench Emeritus of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court. Tim has served as speaker at seminars of the Tennessee Bar Association, Knoxville Bar Association, University of Tennessee College of Law, and the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association on various topics dealing with trial practice issues. Tim served as the Municipal Court Judge for the town of Farragut, Tennessee, from 1999-2005. Tim is married to the former Betsy Minnis and they have two children Adam, a partner with the firm, and Laura, an acute care nurse practitioner. Hobbies include golf, Vol Network Color Analyst for broadcast of University of Tennessee football games since 1999, and enjoying his grandchildren. Mark was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1985 and has also been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit. He is a long time member of the Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has been a member of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court. Chris is a dual threat attorney practicing in both criminal and civil areas of the law. In the areas of criminal defense, Chris is a member of Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Serving as lead counsel on criminal matters in the firm, he has defended and advised on a number of high profile cases in East Tennessee. Attorney Spotlight: Robert E. “Bob” Pryor, Sr. This week our firm highlights our attorney, Bob Pryor. Bob was admitted to the Tennessee bar in 1969. He is a graduate of The University of Tennessee (B.S.) and The University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D., 1969). He is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations; the American Association of Justice; the Tennessee Association for Justice; American Board of Trial Advocates (Advocate); Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court (Master of the Bench Emeritus); and the Society of Law and Medicine. Bob, along with Frank Flynn, Tim Priest and John Harber, was a founding partner of the firm and has practiced as a trial litigator in civil matters since his admission to the bar in 1969, amassing a long history in the Tennessee law community. Because of his regional and national reputation as a trial attorney, Bob has also represented clients in the courts of many other states. He has represented clients or their families in obtaining a significant number of multi-million dollar judgments through complicated litigation ranging from products liability to medical malpractice. His practice has included nearly every type of injury litigation and legal theory in the field. Bob has obtained consistent local and national recognition for years in such publications as Super Lawyers magazine, Business TN and Cityview Magazine. Most recently, numerous years of being named a top attorney in Cityview Magazine by his peers culminated in Bob being the cover attorney for 2020's top attorney issue. Bob served as an Instructor in Law and an Adjunct Professor of Law most of his professional career at the University of Tennessee College of Law. He served as a lecturer on law in the College of Business of The University of Tennessee from 1971 to 1974 and has served since 1978 as an Adjunct Professor of Law and lecturer at The University of Tennessee College of Law. He has served as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the Case Western School of Law Litigation Forum, and the Tennessee College of Advocacy. Bob is a frequent presenter and lecturer on trial practice topics on educational programs for lawyers sponsored by the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Knoxville Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the National Practice Institute, the Tennessee Young Lawyers Conference, the Federal Practice Institute, the Georgia Bar Association, and the National Business Institute. In 1977, Bob served as President of the Tennessee Young Lawyers Conference and was a member of the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Bar Association from1977-78. He has served as an officer of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association and as a member of its Board of Governors intermittently since 1974. He was elected to the Tennessee Appellate Court Nominating Commission and served from 1991-94 and has been a member of The University of Tennessee College of Law Advisory Board and Dean's Circle since 1995. He has drafted numerous articles for numerous publications in a variety of fields. Bob is married to the former Norma Lee Hammer, and they have three children, Robert E. Pryor, Jr. (a partner with the firm), John P. Pryor, and Amy Pryor of Knoxville. They have five grandchildren.
