Standing PSOAS Stretch by Dr. Barbara Pys.
The psoas as a lower back muscle gets shortened and tight with prolonged sitting. A common sign we see with psoas and low back tightness is getting out of a chair and having to walk around stooped over. After walking around stooped over for a minute you can slowly start to straighten up. If that painful posture describes you this low back stretch might help.

Determining if the Neck is the Cause of Headache and Migraine
One of the confusing thinking about Cervicogenic (neck related) Headache or Migraine is that patient must have a neck pain or limited range of motion in neck.
So even though your headache may have been diagnosed as Migraine, Tension Headache, Hormonal, Cluster Headache etc., it may actually be a Neck related (Cervicogenic Headache) and there is one feature, which confirms that the neck is responsible for headache.
Good examples indicating that the neck is the cause of Migraine-headache:
1. Migraine-Headache is one-sided headache, which, for example occurs on the left, and the next episode on the right, that is, it swaps sides between episodes (or within the same episode)
2. Migraine Headache on both sides of the head at the same time, but is stronger on the left and other times on the right, this confirms that the neck is responsible for headache.
3. Migraine-Headache starting in the neck and/or headache that is accompanied by neck discomfort or stiffness.
4. One-sided Migraine-headache or headache on both sides but stronger on the one (always the same) side.
5.Migraine-Headache triggered by sustained postures, for example neck forward bending.
6.Ongoing headache (4 weeks) after head and/or neck injury.
7. Migraine-Headache that is gradually becoming more frequent.
It important to mention that even if headache does not have any of these features it still could be Neck related (Cervicogenic) migraine or headache. In this case, a physical examination by a osteopathic neuromuscular specialist, chiropractic neuromuscular specialist or manual physical therapist of the cervical spine is required to confirm or rule out a neck disorder as the cause of headache or migraine.
Examination of the upper cervical spine by Osteopath, Chiropractor or manual physical therapist can be a life changing and could prevent a lifetime of medication because Headache or Migraine, could be a Cervicogenic Headaches(neck related) and Cervicogenic Headache can be treated extremely successful.

Pys Headache Approach*
Identifying the Role of the Neck in Headache and Migraine
For Individuals Living With Headache and Migraine
Pys Headache Approach is a sequence of manual therapy techniques and identifying and managing relevant neck disorders not only in cervicogenic headache but also in primary headache.
What if we told you there might be a better way to prevent and treat your painful headaches or migraines?
Since 1995 Michael Pys is performs a drug-free headache therapy known as Pys Headache Method. This hands-on technique can be used along with, or possibly instead of, medications and other headache/migraine treatments. Here are the essentials every headache and migraine sufferer should know.
Migraine and headache overview
Pressure or pain in your head is known as a headache and can range from mild to moderate in severity. Headaches can occur on one or both sides of your head. The pain can be in one specific region, such as in your forehead, back of the head, or temples, or it can happen all over. Headaches can be short, lasting about 30 minutes, or they can be longer and stick around for up to a week. Headache SYMPTOMS include sinus, cluster, and tension.
Remember it is just a symptoms. Just because you have a syndrome in face area doesn't mean it is a sinus headache or symptoms similar to migraine doesn't mean it is coming from brain. In FACT brain have no pain receptors. ALSO, all headaches including migraine have one thing in common, NON of them originate in brain. And it is a FACT.
Migraines can range from moderate to severe in intensity and can last for a few days to weeks. Most migraines are specific to one side of the head. However, some people experience migraines that cause pain equally on both sides.
Along with pain, migraines can cause nausea, vomiting, light or sound sensitivity, temporary vision loss, and seeing flashing lights or spots. If you suffer from migraines, you can start having symptoms such as depression, irritability, neck stiffness.
What is Pys Headache Method?
Pys Headache Method is a hands-on evaluation and treatment technique believe that all functions in your body are connected, which means that struggling with recurrent headaches and migraines might be related to changes in your muscles or tissues. To perform Pys Headache Method he uses his hands to evaluate, temporarily reproduce headache, gently move your tissues and joints to restore alignment, range of motion, and health with a special interest in upper body(NECK) C0-C4
Different techniques are used to work on specific structures in your body. Some methods work on soft tissues to stretch and place pressure on your muscles. Other techniques work in a push-pull manner to move your muscles in a specific direction.
The myofascial release technique uses firm pressure to release the layer of connective tissue around your muscles, bones, and organs. The final method is known as cranial manipulation and consists of soft pressure being applied to your skull, which stimulates healing.
Does Pys Headache Method hurt?
When done right, this hands-on technique shouldn’t hurt, or may be a little. Michael will place his hands on your body to apply light pressure, stretching, and resistance over areas that might be out of alignment especially in upper neck and trigger your headache/migraine symptoms. There are many techniques that Michael Pys uses to treat migraine/headaches, and some may look similar to what you might think a massage therapist or chiropractor uses.
Benefits of Pys Headache Method
The number one benefit of Pys Headache Method is that it can correct the cause of the pain and other symptoms of headaches and migraines. Not only can it treat the pain, but you might also notice a complete decrease in the frequency of headache symptoms. An added benefit is that Pys Headache Method can decrease the amount of medicine you need or even eliminate the need for drug therapy.
Am I a good candidate?
