The 2020 NFL season is in full swing and life seems a bit more “normal” these days. I enjoy watching the pregame shows to see what all the announcers and analysts are wearing. The New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick, is known for sporting a hoodie with the sleeves cut off. In a new Subway commercial, Bill’s seen rocking his cutoff hoodie and cutting off the sleeves of a man’s suit to resemble his short sleeves. I’m not seeing this as a trend, however, I have seen men rocking short sleeved suits. These days anything is possible. How to go back to work but still get away with dressing comfortably but still looking professional? Simple! Here’s how:
1 - Wear a shirt with a collar - either a polo shirt or dress shirt. Anything else looks sloppy. Also, make sure the collar on your shirt is pressed and looks nice. I’m not reddening to the polo shirt you still wear from college. It is probably resembles lettuce. That’s not appropriate for work.
2 - Wear darker colored bottoms - they look dressier. These in the photo are lt wt golf slacks from Travismathew. Still professional and dressier than lighter colored golf slacks.
3 - Accessories are a must. A nice belt and lace up shoes that match. Steer clear of anything you can see your toes in and shoes you wear to work out in. Adding a belt and nice shoes will make an outfit dressier and more professional while keeping you comfortable.

Here is a great way to dress casually this fall when heading to the office, client meeting or dinner out:
1- take your favorite navy blazer - jackets are always polished and professional.
2- solid white or lt blue polo - trick is to keep it solid, simple color and make sure the collar is not rolling. It needs to be pressed and lays nicely under the jacket.
3- Dark color slacks or jeans. Love these rust color cotton slacks. Dark green, red, grey or brown colors are other great options.

Here is a great way to layer and not overdo it. Start with colors that compliment each other (greys and blues). Then make sure the patterns are too bold or only wear one piece that is bold. Finally, make sure everything is tailored, pressed and fits your frame. You don’t want any collars rolling, baggy jackets or I’ll fitting tops. Pair this look with jeans, dress slacks or casual golf slacks.
