Depending on the severity of symptoms, some patients need to be admitted to hospitals while others can be treated in an outpatient basis. Outpatient treatment might include: 1) The antibiotic Zithromax ( Z-Pak, Azithromycin ) - the most common medication being prescribed for COVID-19. It is given either for 3 or 5 days (depending on dosage). 2) Acetaminophen 500mg ( Tylenol ) given for muscle ache relief and fevers. 3) Steroid (Prednisone or Methylprednisolone ) given to decrease inflammation. It is mostly given to those patients with shortness of breath ( difficulty breathing ). 4) Vitamins C and D and Zinc supplements. 5) Increase fluid intake ( Pedialyte or Gatorade are great options as they are good sources of electrolytes ).
