These hardworking guys spent Friday stripping topsoil and installing a compacted aggregate base course for a new building pad in Bellevue State Park. R. S. Widdoes & Son recently completed the concrete foundation work for the 25’ tall statue of Hanuman at the Hindu Temple in Hockessin, DE. This beautiful piece of art weights approximately 70,000lbs and was carved out of a single piece of granite in India. We were extremely excited and grateful to have had the chance to work on this project. Concrete work for this project was done in 2 phases. First a 3’ thick mat slab was poured, along with concrete attached to the bottom of the granite to level the base of the statue. A few weeks later the statue was set on a heavy duty steel frame, which we infilled around with concrete. This little project took 2.5 tons of rebar and 80 yards of concrete. #hanuman #concrete #concretecontractor #delaware #hockessin #widdoestough

“It’s always a good day when you get to pour concrete.” These guys spent Friday morning placing and finishing heavy duty concrete pavement for a new driveway and truck pad in North Wilmington. Great work team! Also would like to say great job to Chris B, for working into the night on Friday, moving equipment from our project in Dover, to our new project in Middletown. Our hardworking team worked into the night on Monday, finishing out this flat floor with a broom finish. This floor will receive a terrazzo topping, so it needs to be flat and have a textured finish for the terrazzo to bond to the concrete. Great work team.
