About

My massage therapy services include Swedish/Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Myofasial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Pre/Post Natal, Sports Massage Pre & Post Event, & Specific Clinical massage treatment from a Prescription.
I believe that EVERYONE can benefit from receiving a massage. Regular massages can help to relieve stress, improve your ability to handle stress, reduce muscle tension & areas of chronic pain, improve headaches both tension& migraine, increase flexibilty, help to provide a more graceful aging process, reduce and eliminate numbness and tingling, and improve your overall health increasing vitality!
I offer15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minute massages. To receive the optimal benefit from a massage I recommend regular treatments at least once a month, twice monthly is better, and weekly is best if even 2 of the 4 sessions are express 15 or 20 minute massages.
Swedish/Relaxation
If you have never had a massage before this is where I like to begin! This therapeutic session is made up of light to moderate traditional massage strokes that are designed to relieve muscle tension, stimulate circulation, increase serotonin levels, improve muscle tone, and promotes total mind and body relaxation. I feel like a brand new woman after my relaxation massages!
Deep Tissue
This massage is for times when your are wound tight experiencing discomfort and pain. A deep tissue session will release and lengthen the affected areas, restore proper circulation, and reduce or eliminate discomfort and pain. Multiple sessions most likely will be required for full restoration.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are often referred to as pressure points, because when they are pressed upon they elicit a pain response what feels like an increase in pressure. Pressure points are actually areas where you press to stop blood flow. There are millions of tiny structures called sarcomeres within a muscle that interlock like fingers during a contraction. During muscular trama the sarcomere does not stop contracting. Because the sarcomeres also act as tiny pumps pumping blood through capillaries, blow flow becomes restricted in the affected area causing stagnation, and the constant contraction produces a build up of metabolic waste. The affected tissues become swollen and very irritated sending it into emergency mode which produces a PAIN response. Trigger points will not just go away on there own. What does happen is if left untreated other trigger points will form around the primary, these are called Constellation trigger points. They can go into a sleep mode where active pain is not felt, but a motion in the body can wake them up causing active pain once again. Everyone can get trigger points, even babies. Ex: One cause of pain felt behind our eyes while experiencing a headache is an active trigger point in the neck or shoulder area referring pain behind the eyes. There are things we can all do to help reduce the incidence of trigger points. This will be discussed during your session.
Sports Massage Pre & Post Event
Sports massage includes therapeutic massage and stretching that will prepare the athlete for competition & aid in recovery from activity.
Pre-Event massage is performed 30 minutes - 2 hours before competition. It is short in duration lasting just 20 minutes focusing on warming the broadening the areas of muscles to be used during the event and is performed at an upbeat pace to get your blood flowing & you pumped up to compete! Go you!
