Meet the new owners of Radford Animal Hospital: Elaine and Dan Claffey! The Claffeys are moving back to the New River Valley with their new daughter Charlotte and their “fur children” Pepper the Beagle mix and Optimus the cat. They met while attending veterinary school at Virginia Tech and were married in 2015.
Elaine is the daughter of Dale and Janet Flory, dairy farmers in nearby Dublin, VA. She has spent the last 5 years training and working as a veterinarian at Cornell University, most recently just next to the Belmont racetrack at Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists on Long Island. Outside of surgery, she loves spending time at the family farm and riding horses.
Dan is a second-generation veterinarian, following in the footsteps of both his parents who until recently owned a small animal hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Dan has spent the last 6 years practicing as a small animal veterinarian in New York where he developed a special interest in surgery. Outside of veterinary medicine Dan loves hockey, lacrosse and watching the Hokies football team play whenever possible.
The Claffeys are very excited to be continuing Radford Animal Hospital’s tradition of excellent, family owned, high quality veterinary medicine and look forward to serving our community in the coming years.
More and more pets have been adopted as of late and it's important to make sure your new pet is as healthy as can be. Schedule a wellness exam for your pet with our office now! radfordanimalhospital.com
