Motivated by a family tragedy at the early age of 8, Dr. Hovsepian decided to become a plastic surgeon. In his own words, he chose to become a plastic surgeon because, “plastic surgery lets me apply principles and techniques to give people a new start in life.” His perseverance and tenacity took him through his Bachelor in Science degree at the University of California, Irvine, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and led him to medical school at the prestigious Chicago Medical School. There Dr. Hovsepian earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed two Masters in Science, Pathology and Physiology; graduating in the top 10% of his class. Prior to training in plastic surgery, Dr. Hovsepian completed his residency and was certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) in general surgery at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas, where he graduated as the Chief Resident.

Prior to concluding his nine years of formal training, Dr. Hovsepian completed subspecialty fellowships in aesthetic surgery of the nose, face, breast and body.
Dr. Hovsepian takes great pride in being triple board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS). In addition, he has been indoctrinated into American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), an accomplishment achieved by only a hand full of surgeons.
Committed to his profession of providing compassionate care to patients, Dr. Hovsepian founded the International Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Institute (IAPSI) in 2009. Dr. Hovsepian’s vision for the institute is creating a collaborative and educational environment for international plastic surgeons to exchange best practice case studies, cutting edge techniques and technology being innovated globally for the betterment of the aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery profession.
