Are you really covered?
I remember my first car accident. I was in high school and was rear-ended by a teacher from my school. I saw it coming. I looked into the rearview mirror as she was distracted by her daughter in the back seat. I knew she couldn't stop in time and braced myself. Let's talk SR-22's!
Common knowledge is that SR-22's are a result of a DUI, but you may be surprised to learn that you can be placed under an SR-22 requirement for anything including having an accident without insurance, a forgotten traffic ticket, too many tickets and many other scenarios.
But it isn't as expensive as you think!
When people think SR-22 they think expensive insurance. An SR-22 is simply a form filed with the State that requires your insurance company to notify the State on the status of your insurance. It isn't even insurance! It's a form filing and many insurance companies charge a flat, small fee to file one on your insurance policy and some don't charge at all!
