We’re making a lot of progress with the exterior jobs that we’ve had on the books all summer. We power washed another exterior job this morning to get it ready for painting and staining. Now we’re getting the shutters, trim and front on this townhome prepped and ready for paint.
It’s late for a Friday but we have another exterior job all finished. We painted all of the exterior trim, shutters and doors on this home along with caulking all of the windows to freshen it up.
We power washed the exterior surfaces on this deck to get it ready for a fresh coat of stain. The new stain will match the existing color that’s in the enclosed area. We also cleaned the siding and the patio area while we had the washer going.
We’re thankful for our patient and loyal customers!! We gave the estimate for freshening up the exterior trim on this home in July of 2019 and are starting it today. There were multiple times where the scheduling didn’t work out either on our end or the customers end so it took some patience on both ends.
Another one off the books!! We have this phase of the siding and trim on this home completed. The porch floors will also get refinished later this fall weather permitting. If not we will do them when we’re back on the spring to work on the others areas of the siding. Those areas are in good enough shape to make it through the winter. There’s still some daylight left so we’re off the next exterior job to take advantage of the weather.
This is quite a difference in the before and after!! We have the upper gable finished. It took a lot of scraping and sanding to get the wood back to paintable condition. We put two coats of primer and two coats of finish paint on it to get it sealed up. The next phase will be freshening up the siding on the back side of the house with a coat of paint.
We’re coming down the homestretch on this phase of the Towson job. We have the final coat of the new color on the walls and much of the trim and doors. The new shoe molding is painted and will be installed this afternoon.
This home has went through quite a transformation over the past few days. From a dusty mess three days ago to having the ceilings finished and one coat of the new color on the walls throughout the stairways and first floor. We will be installing new shoe molding then finish coating the walls and trim then the homeowners can put their touches on it to make it their home after moving in over the summer.
We’re back at the Towson job for the final phase of the main floor and get the deck coated before cold weather. The prep work is almost finished and it almost time to get started with the makeover. The ceilings, trim and doors will be getting a brighter white and the walls are getting a neutral color throughout.
It was a long weekend but other then a few spots to detail we have the porch ceiling finished up. We used a solid color stain on the ceiling and a white solid stain on the beams to give the area a much more open feel.
This porch ceiling is this weekends project. It was originally getting power washed and stained to match the existing stain. After we got it cleaned the homeowner changed it to a solid stain to give it some color which will require multiple coats. Once again, I can’t thank my cousins, Mike and Steve Burkett enough for working on the weekends to help me out.
Other then coming back for detailing a few spots where the caulking is still drying we have the work on this townhouse finished. There was some minor repair work to do then the trim, doors and shutters got two coats of paint to brighten it up.
We’re getting started on the first phase of this job which will eventually cover the whole house. We removed the wallpaper in the master bathroom and had to do a significant amount of patching around the electrical boxes for the lights before going forward. The original builder had used the wallpaper to cover the holes instead of patching them in.
We love the way this master bedroom has turned out. We did the painting earlier this year and the shiplap wall was recently completed by the homeowner with the help of family. The shiplap and the new ceiling fan really compliments the new colors and furniture.
The last room at the Towson job is not cooperating with the schedule very well!! To say the wallpaper is being difficult to remove would be an understatement. Thankfully the damage to the drywall has been minimal so far. The last two pictures are from the job inHavre De Grace where Andrew is washing the wallpaper glue residue off of the walls. We stripped the paper there in late August before the bathroom was renovated and is now ready for paint.
It’s been another long but very productive day. We were able to get the rec room ceilings, walls, trim and doors completely finished. Just a couple of small rooms left then we have this whole house makeover completed.
This rec room, laundry room and two small bathrooms are the final phase of this job. The ceilings, trim and doors will be getting a fresh coat of paint. The wallpaper in the powder room will be removed then the walls in each area will be getting new colors which will complete the job.
It certainly wasn’t ideal conditions but we were able to get the lighter color finished today. We need to come back to touch up a few areas otherwise it’s another one off the books. We’re almost caught up on the schedule and looking forward to having at least the weekends off going forward.
The railings are stained and will be ready for polyurethane once they’ve completely dried. The ceilings, walls, trim and doors throughout the first floor have two coats of fresh paint and are finished.
We have the ceiling and walls on this job finished. The railings are sanded, prepped and ready for Gel Stain to match the kitchen cabinets. The final step will be applying a couple coats of polyurethane to the railings and painting the doors and trim.
This is the last project we have for the year. The main floor of this townhouse is getting freshened up with a couple coats of paint for the New Year.
The finished product. We repaired the drywall tape seams in the corners, repaired the cracks then gave the hallway walls 2 coats of paint so it has a fresh clean look.
We’re repairing the drywall corners and seams in this stairway to get it ready for paint. Some of the cracking was caused by settlement and the rest was from a water leak in the roof. Once we finish the patching, the water stains will get sealed with oil based primer then the stairway and hallway will get painted to match the existing color.
Merry Christmas and Thank You everyone for the tremendous support and loyalty that we’ve received in what has been a challenging year of business.
We’re back at the basement job now that all of the trim and doors have been installed. Once we get it all caulked in and the nail holes filled the entire area will be ready for the finish coats of paint.
It’s stairway and hallway day!! We’re making our way downstairs to the foyer and entry hallway with the new colors which is the final phase of the job.
We’re wrapping up the detail work on this master bedroom, closet and bathroom and getting ready to start the next phase of the job. It been quite a transformation that began with the wallpaper being removed then painting the ceilings, walls and trim with the new colors. The receptacles and switches are getting replaced with white ones along with getting new door handles and hinges which will compliment the new look.
Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!! No green paint today but we are working on a color change. The wallpaper is gone, walls have been patched and are ready to be primed. We also have the ceiling and closet finished. The other pictures are of the living room and fireplace which we painted last year.
This master bedroom, bathroom, stairway and hallways are the next project on the list. The wallpaper is getting removed then the ceilings, walls, trim and doors in all of the areas will be getting painted to give it a more modern look.
The transformation is complete. The new color has really brightened this room up.
