Nebraska troopers find military South Dakota National Guard tank abandoned on Interstate
New teeth in South Dakota's 'move over' law. It's now a Class 1 misdemeanor with minimum fine from $122.50-$270. Besides moving over for emergency vehicles with flashing amber lights, drivers must now move over for authorized vehicles using a blue light while working on highway.

MOTORIST ADVISORY: As you can see from this current look at our call screen, your Rapid City police officers are very busy this afternoon with a variety of different calls for service that include at least eight crashes. This winter weather means roads are slick, and we want to remind all motorists to allow plenty of time to slow down and get to their destination safely during their evening commute. Other good practices include increasing your following distance and making sure ALL of your vehicle’s windows are clear of snow and ice!
