Rashid Zaheer Syed, M.D., is a transplant hepatologist with board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology. After graduating from Aga Khan University Medical College, Dr. Syed completed his internal medicine residency at Westchester Medical Center where he served as the Administrative Chief Resident and earned the Best Overall Resident Award. Dr. Syed then completed a hepatology and transplant hepatology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Syed's clinical interests include liver transplantation, alcohol-related liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, auto-immune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and cirrhosis.
