Mums, hostas, Grit N’ Grace roses, and new mulch! Fall is our favorite time to plant 😃
Just installed new sod and a 14 foot tall tulip tree! 
It’s planting season! We installed 15 limelight hydrangeas and 15 purple diamond loropetalum bushes. We finished it off with fresh fescue sod.
We installed 11,250 square feet of emerald zoysia sod yesterday! Zoysia is the best grass we can get in our area. We placed it on beautiful topsoil we had spread the day before.
We are installing a new landscape full of native plants. We’ve planted Fothergilla Gardenii, a red buckeye, Ilex Glabra (Shamrock), a Cherokee Princess dogwood tree, and Annabel hydrangeas. 
Both of these properties got our overseeding and core aeration packages last fall. They’ve come in great and look amazing after a fresh cut. #nofilter

Did you know that black mulch actually warms your soil?
This color mulch attracts sunlight, more so than its lighter variations. This raises the temperature of the soil and helps your plant life to grow, despite chilly temperatures.
If you are growing flowers or vegetables, black mulch can provide an effective layer of protection from weeds and diseases.
Did you know that mulch is often used on playgrounds to improve safety? It lessens the impact of falls from playground equipment.
The benefits don’t stop there.
When used on residential properties, mulch is also extremely useful. Besides adding style and increasing curb appeal, it can prevent weeds and deter pests from your plant life.
With Valentine’s Day coming up this weekend, we are thinking about relationships. The great ones have a rock-solid foundation.
Just like relationships, a great landscape has some rock included too! They can:
- Create a border.
- Add color, texture, and height.
- Add curb appeal.
With spring maintenance around the corner, remember to prune your shrubs and hedges! Not only does this improve the look of your property, but there are other benefits:
- Pruning can deter pests from staying in your shrubs.
- Pruning can prevent disease spread by eliminating the affected branches.
- The branches and leaves will not have to compete for sunlight and water.
The growing season is upon us. If you prefer DIY lawn maintenance, remember to get to know your grass before the season starts. Find out how much water it needs to thrive and what height it should be cut. Also, resist the urge to mow the lawn shorter in an effort to save time. (That doesn’t work and causes damage!) In a few weeks, follow these tips to start your spring season off strong!
