Captured video of the "Princess Haru" in Coos Bay headed out to sea today with a load of wood chips from the Oregon Chip Terminal on U.S. Hwy 101 in North Bend, Oregon. The wood chips carrier was built in 2017 and currently sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands.

HOME REPAIR GRANTS FOR QUALIFYING HOMEOWNERS
The City of Coos Bay and NeighborWorks Umpqua (NWU) have partnered to create a home improvement program for qualifying low-moderate income homeowners in Coos Bay, Reedsport, and Coos County. This program will further the City Council’s goal to support housing in our City.
Funded with $500,000 from the Oregon Business Development Department and subject to NWU application review, homeowner grants of up to $15,000 will be available in February 2021 for health and life safety home repairs for stick-built and some manufactured homes. Grants can be used for roof, bathroom, steps, flooring, decking and plumbing repairs as well as door and window replacements, electrical upgrades and handicapped accessibility improvements. Applications are being accepted now.
