About

Ready Set Grow Therapy is a private practice offering pediatric occupational therapy to the NJ area. We exclusively specialize in the evaluation and treatment of children from birth through adolescence. Our goal is to help children develop the skills they need to successfully participate in everyday activities such as walking, talking, eating, and playing at home, at school, and in the community. Our highly trained therapists are experienced in treating issues related to sensory processing disorders, fine-motor/handwriting skills, visual-motor-perceptual skills, praxis/motor planning and gross-motor development. They provide each child with the support they need to reach their potential in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Great visual to help us realize how our kids with sensory issues are feeling! I think quarantine has made all of us parents feel this way at one point in time.
We are excited to announce the winners of our pre-made sensory bins! Congratulations Jennifer Orgelfinger and Kimberly Howley! We hope everyone enjoyed our ideas and we will be posting more soon!
Sensory activity 5/5! Since we have had a heat wave here the last few days I am going to give you 5 ways to play with water. 1. Painting with water. Take a paint brush and a bucket of water. Draw pictures or write letters on the driveway or on a fence or the house to use a vertical surface for extra upper body strengthening. 2. Squirting spray bottles and water guns to water plants is a great way to work on fine motor. Let the kids spray themselves to cool off! 3. Fill up a water table or a big bin with water. Add cups, spoons, etc to work on pouring. Add a turkey baster, eye dropper, or pieces of sponge for fine motor practice. 4. Add ice cubes to a bucket of water. Have the kids pick them out using tongs or scoop them out using a spoon. 5. Make a relay race with two buckets. Fill one with water and put a sponge in the water, run across the yard and squeeze the sponge to fill the other bucket. See who can fill their bucket the fastest. We hope you enjoyed our posts over the last few days! We will be announcing our winners of the premade sensory bins on Wednesday morning!
Leaf rubbing is a great way to work on fine motor skills, bilateral coordination, and a fun sensory experience as well! Make sure you use small crayons (or break them in half!) to encourage a tripod grasp. We have expanded our gym space in our Morganville location and everyone is having so much fun! Both locations have separate spaces where only one therapist and one child is per session, as we want to ensure the safety of both our kids and staff! All equipment is being sanitized between sessions and we are using a uv air filter in all spaces.

Whether you’re celebrating Halloween indoors or trick or treating this year, add these to the list of Halloween fun! Bonus: activities work on fine motor skills and give lots of sensory input as well!
Fall is a great season for sensory activities! Raking leaves, jumping in a pile of leaves, and collecting acorns and pine cones are all ways to give your child various types of sensory input. Another activity I love is Guess Bags. Blindfold your kiddo(s), have them reach into the bag and guess what’s inside!
We (don’t) scare because we care! Happy Halloween from Ready Set Grow! 👻🕸🎃
Kids are loving this Pumpkin Bash activity this week! It’s a great source for sensory input and also works on bilateral coordination and hand strength!
