A good reminder as we go into this week!
Mozzie is VERY tired after his first 5k for the Freedom House in Pella which was formed to support victims of Human Sex Trafficking. He, Monique, Alyssa, and Jenny had a great time too! Proud that Real Connections Counseling could be a sponsor for the event!
As we get closer to holidays and times that family and friends gather, we ask for you to please wear a mask to your sessions... we plan on this through the end of the year. Or, if you would prefer, we also offer telehealth sessions!
We are working hard at keeping everybody relationally and physically healthy! Full-time masks, these days. So we figured as long as we were masking up, we’d do our best to be stylin’! We’re in this with you no matter what is happening out there, and we are finding ways to enjoy some things that have been less fun. 2020 Best in Class Nominees Announced
Folks, tonight is the night where we find out whether or not Urbandale thinks we’re the best business in town! We’re pretty excited, and think this is really fun. Whether we win the best business of the year or not isn’t the point, though. Our hope is always to build and enhance the relational health of our community and we’re getting there! All the couples that have worked with us have become partners in that as they go out now and be their best versions of them. They impact others in a good way, and we love it. That is our motivation day in, and day out.

Many are experiencing complicated grief this time of year. I (Tammy) can say something about new traditions done after a loss. After my brother passed away from a tragic car accident, I started giving socks. Colorful, obnoxious, silly socks as part of Christmas gifts. Why? Cause every Christmas, he always had goofy socks on...and was quite proud of them. Now giving them as gifts seems perfectly normal and something I look forward to.

This is a really cool idea for kids to do. It’s called shadow art!
Mozzie has begun light work in the therapy room! And the truth is he’s actually doing naturally what we need him to do professionally 🙂. He’s got quite a lot of training left to go to become a tried and true therapy dog but he is already doing it! It was really cool to see, and be a part of it.
If you need help, we’re here to help you. We think you’ll benefit greatly from the team approach to counseling used by Monique and Rick Elgersma At Real Connections Counseling. And now the therapy may include teammate Mozzie! He’s such a sweet boy and you’ll love meeting him.
BIG thanks to Kellie Frederick, Mozzie‘s trainer. She is such a conscientious and bright expert in her field! She is doing such a nice job getting Mozzie to be an expert in his field.

If I was with him when things started to go sideways, I was going to have his back no matter what.”
Things go sideways with couples too sometimes. Can you work on making and proving the statement, “I was going to have his/her back no matter what” happen in you with your your spouse/partner/family member/friend?
Friendship needs such lengths sometimes. We simply must be there.
