Vittles for Vets is a 501c3 charity that helps Veterans who are at or below the federal poverty level by providing funds to help feed them and their family; for many this is a major portion of their food budget.
The COVID Pandemic has hit us with a double whammy. The number of Veterans requiring assistance has increased by 60% since March of 2020, while at the same time, our fund raising has dropped by over 20%. We had to cut the amount of weekly assistance by 50% in order to provide something to everyone.
The long term solution will come from large donors such as corporations, business, organizations, and grants. If you could put us in touch with someone you know, we would appreciate the opportunity to explain the program to them.

At this brand new home behind Ballyhack Country Club in Roanoke, a contractor had scratched up this White Carrera marble, and someone had attempted to remove the scratches with some steel wool.
We removed the scratches and brought it back up to a deep, glossy, shine. SO pretty!

Carilion Clinic Hospice of the New River Valley is a not-for-profit agency who serves people that have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness. Carilion Clinic Hospice of the New River Valley has been a partner with We Honor Veterans organization for the past 9 years. In December 2019, we were the first hospice agency in the state of Virginia to obtain a level 5 of the We Honor Veterans program. We Honor Veterans program is nation-wide organization that works to honor local veterans.
Carilion Clinic Hospice of the NRV are dedicated in providing service to all patients and to make sure our veterans are honored at the end of life. We have had the honor in providing end of life care to 50 veterans and their families over this past year.
We are also a proud partner of the United States of America Vietnam Commemoration program in which we honor all our Vietnam Veterans for their service and sacrifice.

Real Property Management Insight is looking for a full-time maintenance technician/coordinator. The maintenance technician reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for all maintenance activities for our portfolio of single-family homes, town houses, and condos. We will provide a company vehicle and tools. Paid vacation. Pay based on experience and certifications held. We are a rapidly growing company; there is lots of room for advancement.
Duties include:
- Receive work orders schedule repair.
- Open and close purchase orders.
- Pick-up materials.
- Coordinate repair schedule with Tenants.
- Handyman level repairs.
- Light landscaping and snow removal.
- Coordinate repairs with outside vendors.
- Conduct inspections.
- Enter billing information for work completed.
- Communicate status of projects to Owners and Tenants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
The maintenance technician must maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all people they interact with and have good oral and written communication skills. They must be comfortable and proficient working on a computer and tablet with a variety of apps and programs. The technician must have basic handyman skills; licensing from the State is not required. Must have a clean driving record, be able to pass drug screening, and be eligible to work in the United States.
