We’ve been doing this for a couple of decades or so, and we’ve narrowed the claims filing process down to the basics, so you don’t have to. Here’s what we’ve come up with:

We have created this simple, 5-min guide to help you understand the basics of filing a claim:
.
Step 1: If your insurance carrier has a #mobileapp, go ahead and download it from the #appstore. Why use the app? How about, 20 extra minutes of your time?
.
Step 2: Login to your online account, or create a new one using your policy#. Once you’re in the app, proceed to the “Claims Center”. If you don’t have an app, simply get the number from google, by searching the name of your insurance carrier + “claims department phone number”. Then dial the number and follow the prompts.

Step 3: Once you’re in the claims center, choose the option which allows you to start a new “Automobile/Motorcycle Claim”. On the phone? Notify the #insurancecompany of your choice, whether it’s your own policy or another driver’s, that you’ve been involved in a #caraccident, and would like to file a new claim.

Step 3: Fill out / answer any questions and details the app / claims representative asks you about the accident. Anything you don’t know, can be left blank and updated later.

Step 4: If you know where you’d like to get your vehicle repaired, make sure to provide the insurance company with your chosen shop’s contact and location details. If you need a #rentalcar , ask your claims representative if it is possible to set up a rental reservation. On the app? Follow the instructions to set up a rental.

Step 5: Once you’ve provided all the necessary details, your claim will be finalized, and ready to go. Now all you have left to do is give your shop of choice a call and notify them of your new claim!
