National Rehab Week is a time to remember the dedication of rehabiliation teammates. They make a difference in the lives of our community members through professional skills, encouragement, and passion for recovery. It is also a time to celebrate their hard work and dedication. Monday was Carnival Foods Day with popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones. Thanks to everyone who made Monday a success.
Tuesday is teammate appreciation. Teammates send each other notes of appriciation and encouragement. Together we are stronger.
It is also Crazy Sock Day, because you gotta have fun to stay strong. Check out our next post to see all of the fun, creative, and silly socks.

The time is now to defeat ALS!
Two months ago, Ana was struggling to breath from COVID-19 infection. She arrived at the Medical Center of Peach County, Navicent Health in great distress. She was sent for advanced care to Savannah where she was admitted to the ICU for more than a month.
After completing her ICU stay which included a tracheostomy procedure (a tube placed in her windpipe to help her breath), Ana came to Rehabilitation Hospital, Navicent Health for recovery.
Ana’s has this to say about her 3 week stay at RHNH: “It’s great here. The staff here are wonderful and caring. I will miss them.” Gary, her husband says, “It has been scary. It’s been a long 2 months with her in an induced coma in ICU. We’re all so happy she is coming home.”
Ana and Gary have three children; Liana, 20, Adriel, 18, and Ezra, 11. Ana’s children and parents were not able to visit during her COVID illness. Ana had not hugged her children until today! As she left RHNH, her family was waiting outside to welcome her home.
Ana hopes her story gives people hope that “recovery is possible.”
