For today's Meme Monday we also want to educate you on post-surgical precautions.
-First of all what are they? Post-surgical precautions are guidelines that your surgeon will give you after surgery.
-Why do I have to follow them? These precautions are important to allow the tissues surrounding the surgical site to heal both inside and outside the joint.
-How long will my precautions be set in place? IT DEPENDS! Post-surgical precautions are usually laid out in different phases for a total of anywhere beyond 6 months, depending on what surgery you have.
-SUMMARY: post-surgical precautions are very important to follow! Most doctors will review a few of the precautions with you before surgery, but if they don't, ASK! After surgery, your doctor or Physical Therapist may also go over the precautions again, but if you are ever confused about anything, ASK!
