Reliant Urgent Care’s Dr. Hovssep Babayan states on Telemundo Las Vegas that although we have a holiday weekend with our families coming up, social distancing rules still apply. He recommends not to let your guard down and reminds everyone that even at home and with your family, the CDC's recommendations should be kept. Stay safe!
Did you know that even though you’re more likely to get sick from influenza (flu) during the fall and winter months, you can get the flu at any time of year? The CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine every year, as it’s the best protection available against the flu. It can be a good idea to come to urgent care as soon as you experience flu symptoms, especially if you are a person at high risk for complications from the flu.

Reliant Urgent Care’s president, Dr. Max Lebow, was featured on NBC LA! Due to the fear of spreading COVID 19, many patients have been foregoing doctor visits, leading to worse medical implications. Diabetes is one of the most prevalent diseases in the United States, with around 29.1 million Americans with diabetes, and an estimated 8.1 million that are undiagnosed. Diabetes can be effectively managed when caught early. However, when left untreated, diabetes symptoms can lead to a greater susceptibility to disease and infections, and a range of complications all increase the risk. Remember to get regular checkups with your doctor and keep track of your health.
From our family to yours, we wish you all a safe Thanksgiving holiday filled with food and fun! Today we are thankful for you, your families and all your loved ones.
While many people are traveling to see their families, Dr. Max Lebow urges all travelers to get tested before getting on a plane. In addition to washing your hands and having a supply of masks on hand, travelers should take extra precautions when in the plane. Check out the clip of the interview on Telemundo Las Vegas in the “In the News” section on the Reliant website.

The health of your feet is related to your overall mobility and balance. If you ignore feet-related problems, it could lead to issues in your legs or back, or put you more at risk for falls. Also, problems with your feet may indicate undiagnosed conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, liver disease, thyroid issues, or circulation problems. Getting checked out by a podiatrist for your foot issue is a good first step, as a podiatrist can help address symptoms in your feet and refer you to further screening or testing for underlying conditions.

Reliant Urgent Care’s President, Dr. Max Lebow, was featured on @NPR in a segment about Urgent Care Visits! According to an NPR poll, most people reported going to urgent care because they believe it is more convenient and takes less time than going to their regular doctor. One in five said that at least once in the past two years, they were unable to see their regular doctor when they needed medical care, the reasons being the doctor didn't have any available appointments, the office was closed or the doctor was out of the office. Reliant Urgent Care has offices at LAX, DTLA, Montebello, Santa Fe Springs, and Huntington Park ready to serve you at your convenience!

Not sure if you have the flu? A flu test can be performed at an urgent care facility, emergency room, or doctor’s office. Diagnosis of influenza is important as medications are most effective when given early in disease course. Preferred testing for influenza is nasopharyngeal specimen including nasal or throat swab and nasal wash. Tests are easy to perform with results available in less than 15 minutes for some tests.
