Dr. Rena Callahan is a hematologist oncologist who practices in Santa Monica and Santa Clarita. She is active in the breast cancer research and treatment program, and also specializes in gynecologic malignancies. She is board certified in hematology and medical oncology, and is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Callahan is dedicated to providing patient-centered care, and including her patients in clinical decision making so that their individual goals are met. She has a unique interest in the evolving treatment of breast cancer, and how complementary therapies, such as meditation, yoga and reiki can be integrated with Western evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Callahan received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha, with high honors. She completed her internal medicine and hematology/oncology training at UCLA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Yale University.
Dr. Callahan has spoken about the evolving treatment of breast cancer at both local and national meetings.
