RE: Coronavirus
Dear Residents,
The Franklin Johnston Group (“TFJG”) has been and continues to monitor the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation and to take proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of our residents. You should have received a notice from us last week citing the early preventative measures to keep everyone protected. We are implementing additional strategies designed to minimize the spread of this virus. We fully understand that some of the changes are inconvenient, but please remember they are temporary and intended to promote the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendation for social distancing.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:
• Management and Leasing Offices: Effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 and until further notice, the management and leasing offices will be open during normal business hours. However, the offices will be closed to the public and residents. All business will be conducted by email or telephone. In the event an in-person interaction is necessary, please continue to use the social distancing recommendation of six feet.
• Package Acceptance: Effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 and until further notice, resident packages will not be accepted in the management and leasing offices. Please make arrangements for future deliveries accordingly.
• Maintenance: Team Members must wear disposable gloves when working in a unit.
o All residents who have put in a work order will be required to sign an unconditional release indicating that to the best of their knowledge they do not have COVID-19 or any other communicable disease and they are requesting maintenance enter their unit to perform work.
• Visitors: Please attempt to limit the number of visitors wherever possible and use the CDC preventative measures if you do have visitors.
IF COVID-19 IS CONFIRMED AT OUR COMMUNITY:
The resident’s healthcare provider and local health department will evaluate whether they should be hospitalized or self-quarantined at home. We will send out notification to residents of a potential exposure, however, due to privacy laws we cannot identify the household. Public health officials will be in touch with anyone who may have been in close contact. Please contact your medical professional for additional advice.
Based on public health recommendations, the following protocol will go into effect:
• All community spaces, common areas, door handles, and other parts of the community will be cleaned.
• Maintenance will be limited to emergencies only.
• We will contact the local health department and inform you of any additional recommendations.
We urge all residents to share the responsibility of minimizing the spread of COVID-19 and follow the personal and household hygiene steps recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC):
• Avoid close contact.
• Clean your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
• Stay home if you are sick.
• Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your bent elbow.
• Clean and disinfect
• We will contact the local health department and inform you of any additional recommendations.
Again, your health and safety is our top priority and we will keep you informed as we know more.
