To our patients, friends and family,
For the health and safety of our patients, staff, their families, and our community, Restoration Dental Group will only be seeing emergency patients from March 17 to March 31. The Illinois State Dental Society has set this provision, and we intend to adhere to it for the well-being of our patients and community. We anticipate that all non-essential surgeries will soon receive a mandate from the state or federal government requiring them to shut down. As important as dental treatment is to our health and self-esteem, seeing patients for regularly scheduled examinations and treatment can wait in uncertain and frankly dangerous times like these.
Administrative staff will be calling patients today to begin the process of rescheduling them to later dates. Due to the highly communicable nature of the Coronavirus we will be taking additional safety measures outside of our already stringent sterilization and disinfection practices.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these trying times. We are stronger as a community when we work together in the interest of everyone's safety and well-being.

Tip of the week:
Did you know every time we drink wine, tea, coffee and .. soda... our teeth are getting TAN!? Trust me, none of us are giving up the good stuff like coffee, wine and hopefully nobody is drinking soda here..
If you’re unable to brush. Rinsing the mouth with water or drinking certain liquids through a straw could help keep your teeth from being tanned!

This week we want to focus on practicing good oral hygiene at home.
Are you brushing too hard? 😬
Brushing hard puts unnecessary pressure on the teeth leading to receding of the gums, allowing bacteria and plaque to accumulate more easily. This pressure can also wear down the enamel, leading to sensitivity. If you are one hard brusher try holding your toothbrush like a pencil 😉. Remember, it’s not about how hard you brush but for how long and doing back and forth motions.
Also a reminder to pick up your floss after brushing(very important!!) making “C” shapes around the teeth will allow the floss to get underneath your gums.
