Good afternoon from the ReStore! If you need light bulbs, we just received a large donation of led light bulbs from Capital Lighting. Can lights, flush mounts and thousands of incandescent and led bulbs. Our new porcelain tile is 25% off through Labor Day or until supplies last!
The ReStore would like to thank Benjamin Cerda for his generous donation of face shields he created on his 3-D printer! The shields will be provided to customers that can't wear face masks. Thanks Benjamin!

I purchased this Ethan Allen desk at the Delaware ReStore a few weeks ago and started working on it this week. I like to share ideas and best practices so I decided to share them with the ReStore Nation! The theme for this project will be the farmhouse “shabby chic” look. I’m going to refinish the top and paint the base. I started with the top with the products shown in the pictures. I used common household items to save money. I went to WalMart and purchased the stripper, got a regular putty knife, and grade 3 steel wool (extra coarse). I went to Goodwill and purchased a beat up cooking pot to pour the stripper into. The stainless steel pot makes it an easy clean up because all you need to do is spray a little soap and water on it and wipe it out. In addition, I also got a throw away paint tray. I covered the tray with 3 grocery sacks, and put a rubber band around the edge to secure it. You can scrape the waste into the pan, and then bag it up for an easy, no mess clean up. Now that I have all my ducks in a row, I can start the first application. I pour a small amount of stripper into the pot, and use a brush to apply the first coat. I use the putty knife to scrape away the old varnish. I use the steel wool on stubborn spots and gently rub to loosen the varnish. Then I grab the putty knife and scrape away the excess. I will repeat that process until all the vanish has been removed. Then I use 120 grit sandpaper and block sand the top to remove anything that is left over. Lastly, I tape the edges of the top and the base is ready to paint!
