It’s time to meet this week’s #TeammateThursday employee spotlight! Meet Michael Hart, our Senior Equipment Estimator who is based out of Lancaster office. Michael has been part of our company for over three years and has 43 years of experience in the HVAC industry. He visits customer’s homes and businesses to evaluate their current heating and cooling system. After the evaluation, he recommends solutions to best suit their needs – whether it be an equipment upgrade to more efficient system or a conversion to a more effective fuel source or hybrid system. Outside of work, Michael is a Board Member of the Southern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and is the Scholarship Committee Chairman for Shriners Hospital for Children.
What has been your favorite project you’ve worked on so far?
A local Elks club converted from oil to natural gas, where we removed an ancient behemoth of an oil boiler and “daisy-changed: two Burnham high efficiency K2 natural gas boilers as a replacement. We then replaced the air conditioning system for the bar area. The existing system had been installed in a "hap-hazard" manner and not been properly maintained by another HVAC company. The ducting was severely undersized. We installed the proper size duct, proper amount of supply and return venting to provide a much more enjoyable experience for the Elks Members. The Club now has the benefit of reliable, efficient heat and air conditioning as well as the cost savings in their energy bills for heating and cooling. This was not an easy "replacement" project. This complicated project could not have been accomplished without the collaboration of many team members with calculations, experience and thinking "outside the box".
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
Every day is a new day with its own set of challenges and opportunities to help customers. I enjoy presenting creative solutions in unique situations. No two days are alike.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I’m classically trained on the trumpet and a jazz musician.

Did you know this week is National School Bus Safety Week? We wanted to share a few reminders for motorists to help raise awareness.
> Drivers must STOP when a school bus has its stop sign extended and red or yellow flashers on. It is illegal to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.
> Behind a school bus? Allow plenty of following distance so that you have time to stop once the yellow lights start flashing.
> The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for kids. Stop far enough back to allow children space to safely enter and exit the bus.
> Be alert; children--young children, in particular--can be unpredictable and may ignore hazards.
