Lessons for Living
Having something to measure is important for determining how successful you are in reaching a goal.
Since starting out, I have tracked the # of insurance policies sold, and my earnings received. I'm starting to think that those are the wrong metrics, however.
From now on, I am going to measure the # of lives insured. It's the best measure of how successful I am in doing my job that I can think of: "How many people can I help?"
I'll be helping most or all of those clients save money. Some will save a little $, others a lot of $. How much I save an individual client doesn't matter really. The point is just to help as many people as possible.
Look for me to post at the end of the year how well I did for insuring as many lives as possible through Open Enrollment.

- Extending ACA subsidies to higher-income people who do not currently qualify for 2021 and 2022;
- Increasing ACA subsidies for lower-income people who already qualify for 2021 and 2022;
- Providing maximal ACA subsidies for individuals that receive unemployment benefits in 2021; and
- Preventing taxpayers who misestimated their income in 2020 from having to repay excess premium tax credits at tax time.
No mention of lowering the income requirement of 100% Federal Poverty Limit for subsidies. IN ENGLISH: There's more subsidy money, but not if you fall in the "Medicaid Gap," from how I read the report.
