Wednesday Wisdom: Kids laugh roughly 400 times a day. The average adult laughs only 15 times per day. Don’t hide those pearly whites. Bring out the kid in you and find reasons to smile today.
You should replace toothbrushes every 3 to 4 months, and/or after an illness. When in doubt, look at the bristles for fraying. For powered models, change the brush head on the same schedule.
Bad breath. It is unpleasant. But it is treatable. Click here to find out how:

Powered or manual, which is better? Studies show that powered brushes have a slight edge at cleaning away plaque.
Researchers at the independent Cochrane Collaboration looked at 56 clinical trials of unsupervised tooth brushing by more than 5,000 adults and children and found that subjects who used a powered toothbrush showed an 11 percent reduction in plaque at one to three months, and a 21 percent reduction after three months or more, compared with those who used manual toothbrushes.
Of course, it doesn’t matter if it is powered or manual if you don’t use it, at least twice a day.
Thinking of skipping the dentist? Think again! Your checkup is critical to your health. Regular appointments can be tooth AND life-saving. Only your dentist can catch and treat gum disease, check your mouth for life-threatening oral cancers, and remove harmful bacteria before it travels through your bloodstream. We are going above and beyond with safety precautions during this time, and have your health top of mind. Be sure to call us to schedule your cleaning and check-up today!
We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. We wish you a great weekend!
😁

Cracked teeth, gross gums: Dentists see surge of problems, and the pandemic is likely to blame
If your teeth suffer from gaps, chips, stains, or discolorations you may be a candidate for porcelain veneers, a highly effective and minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that can achieve beautiful results. https://www.myriverhillsdentistry.com/veneers.html
Do you floss then brush? Or brush then floss? Some have strong opinions about this - but really, we just want you to floss once a day, every day for best dental health!
Wednesday Wisdom: People who drink 3 or more cans of soda daily have 62% more tooth decay, fillings, and tooth loss than people that don't drink pop.
We want to wish our hygienists Lisa and Shannon a happy dental hygiene month. Their favorite part of the job is getting to know the patients. They look forward to seeing everyone soon.
We know that you are brushing your teeth at least twice a day.
But if you stopped, you would encounter more than plaque and tartar build-up (and bad breath). More serious problems such as tooth decay, gum disease, and even tooth loss are likely if you skip teeth brushing.
Give it two minutes, twice a day, every day for a healthy smile.
Don't lose your Benefits!
Wishing our hygienist Shannon a very Happy Birthday!
There's still time!
