This is what prewriting looks like at Kaleidoscope Play School:
BEFORE writing all on one’s own self control (without the un-empowering need for an adult’s hand to control THEIR hand) a child needs to have a strong core, along with strong and coordinated shoulders, triceps, biceps, forearms, hands and fingers.
This is all developed through CHILD-LED play.

We are looking for some amazing part time aides to join our team!
You will assist our teachers in caring for our students. You will assist with meal distribution, art projects, diapering, toileting, preparing the classroom and supervising children. This is a great job for retired teachers that are looking for some time with kids without the commitment of their own classroom, stay at home parents looking for some part time work and high school students.
We are looking for both morning (7-10 AM approximately) and afternoon (2:30-5:30 PM approximately) aides. Hours have some flexibility.

It’s Election Day!
The best way to raise a voter is to show them how important it is! Talk to your kids about how you voted this year, mail in, early in person, on Election Day in person, or maybe you’re using a voting agent to help you out. Here are some ways to make the connection at their level:
-You can print off sample ballots on the Secretary of State’s website and let your kiddo play with it/fill in the bubbles.
-Have a vote about something in your routine today. Pasta or tacos for dinner? Nemo or Frozen? Blue pajamas for everyone or green?
-Make a simple ballot box 🗳 so they can work on some fine motor skills and learn about ballots. A shoe box with a small cut and some playing cards are an excellent way to do this.
-Show them your sticker!!
-If your kids are older talk about who you voted for and why.
Try to stay calm but also be honest if you are worried, kids can feel it, even if you’re being careful. Hugs from your tiny human and reading books with them are a great way to combat anxieties about the future.

Looking for a fun reason to get out of the house? Join us for Holy-Dazzle, a Christmas Celebration of Light & Music. Drive into the church parking lot, tune your radio to 106.3 FM, and enjoy the show! The show will be every 15 minutes from 5:30-8pm this weekend. Queue in the parking lot across the street if you’re early! Please stay in your vehicle.
