The Rivershore is a 50' commercial pontoon boat, USCG Inspected vessel for up to 46 passengers. All captains carry a Masters License. All USCG required safety items on board. Heated and a/c, bathroom, plenty of tables chairs and benches for your comfort Great sound system for your choice of CD's or your IPOD. ABC licensed to sell beer and wine, food available from local eateries or caterers or you can bring your own (the Captain really enjoys sampling your personally favorite dishes). Buy your tickets.
Tours – Enjoy the scenery along the Occoquan River all year round. As the season changes then so does what you get to see. Eagles, ospreys, herons are just a few of the bird types you will spot. Many forms of wildlife can be seen along the banks of the rivers. Tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday from 12noon till 1 hr before dark. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 12-4 and under 4 is FREE.
The captain will give local facts about history, real estate and many of the other boats. Water, soda and juice available. There is a bathroom on board. Weekday rides are readily available and encouraged but are by appointment only.
Local senior groups have begun using the Miss Rivershore as a way to have a mid-week lunch with a 75-90 minute ride during the week. Food is catered to the boat by several local eateries at reasonable prices. The Blue Arbor Café in Occoquan (www.bluearborcafe.com) and Dixie Bones Bar-b-que in Woodbridge(www.dixiebones.com) just to name a few. These rides are priced at $25-$35 person including lunch and are done a reservation basis.
During the Occoquan Craft Fair (www.occoquancraftshow.com) held the 1st weekend in June and the last weekend in September is a well known annual event in Occoquan. Parking can be had at the Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton and ride the Miss Rivershore to the fair.
