I was fortunate to have Dr. Dean Sumsion, of Riverside Eye Care Professionals in Redding, perform emergency laser surgery on my eye this evening.
His father, Dr. Michael Sumsion, did an excellent job on my cataract surgery last week and will be doing my other eye soon when it is healed.
This afternoon, a tear in my retina caused me to see lightening flashes, a million floating black dots, and heavy black spider webs moving in my vision. These were caused by leaking blood cells through my retinal tear. This could have required more extensive surgery if not caught in time.
I am grateful for the professional care that I received on such short notice.
