We have gotten the final numbers from the 3 schools we are working hand in hand with for the beginning of school. It is estimated that there are 200 children between the 3 schools that will come with little to no school supplies. Can you imagine?
This weekend is the Tax Free shopping weekend. If you would like to help or know of a business that might donate, let us know! Some ideas are 1' binders, 1.5' binders, pencil boxes, glue sticks, dry erase markers, blunt tip scissors, hand sanitizer, index cards, post it notes, pencil sharpeners, water bottles, highlighters.

Over the weekend we began to have some donations of school supplies trickle in in our doors! Thank you! One donor did her shopping from the comfort of her home and is having the supplies delivered to our office. No better way to shop. One of the schools that we are supporting, requires their students to have Trapper Keepers to store all their supplies. For those that remember these, they can be alittle pricey. Other items that are being requested that may not be the "norm" are cleaning products, water bottles as fountains will not be available, boxes of Kleenex, and ZipLock bags. We thank everyone that has shared our posts and donated so far!

School is getting ready to start back in August. Every year there are many children in Manatee County that can not afford to purchase the required school supplies, so classes would share many supplies. This year, as a result of COVID-19, there will be no sharing of supplies. AND there are many more families that will not be able to afford supplies. Our office is collecting school supplies to provide to Manatee County schools and will get them in the hands of the students that need them the most. So, please, while you are out shopping for your children, consider picking up an extra pack of pencils, or crayons and dropping them at our office. Some ideas of the most needed items are water bottles (most schools will not allow water fountains), cleaning products, crayons, number 2 pencils, composition notebooks, kleenex, package of pink erasers, head phones/ear buds, pencil pouch, scissors, 1in binders, 1.5in binders, and many more.
