Dr. Robert F. Sisson, III, received his undergraduate degree from George Mason University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Sisson went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Pennsylvania State University. During his fellowship, he was selected to be the Cardiology Division’s chief fellow. For over 25 years, Dr. Sisson has worked as a general and board-certified interventional cardiologist before moving to the Charleston area to work at MUSC and focus on clinical noninvasive cardiology in the outpatient setting. He is also board certified in internal medicine and cardiology., , During his career, Dr. Sisson has given lectures to members of the community, health care providers, and local emergency medical services by increasing awareness of the signs and symptoms of patients having a heart attack and stressing the importance of getting those individuals prompt medical attention. Dr. Sisson is interested in educating his patients, their families, and the community about working to modify their risk factors for heart disease. If patients need to be treated with medications, he wants to be sure that they are being prescribed the best possible medical regimen for their condition., , Dr. Sisson is pleased to be working with the outstanding healthcare professionals at MUSC to improve the health and well-being of this community.,
