Dr. Robert Buly is one of Castle Connolly's "America's Top Doctors" (2003-2017) and New York magazine's "Best Doctors in New York" (2002-2011). He specializes in joint-preserving surgeries for both hip and knee - including arthroscopies and osteotomies to correct anatomical problems like dysplasia and hip impingement that impair movement, cause pain and ultimately lead to arthritis. Dr. Buly has pioneered novel techniques to treat hip impingement by arthroscopy, rather than through conventional open procedures. In complex cases, Dr. Buly works in concert with bio-engineers to design custom joint replacement implants that solve unique problems.
Dr. Buly is Chief Emeritus of the Hip Preservation Service at HSS.
