Thank you Golf Committee for all of your hard work. I know our hearts are all doing this for the bravest children in Denton County. We have a trial this week in the 16th District Court today. There is a brave child getting up on that stand today with her abuser in the room, twelve strangers in the jury, and what appears to the child to be a scary man in a black robe. Meanwhile, she is going to get hit with so many questions about the abuse that it would make any of our heads spin. The person who abused her is not taking responsibility and is putting their selfishness ahead of this child by not taking a plea bargain. Now, she must testify. But thanks to the counseling she has received at CACDC, the counseling her family received at CACDC, and the support she will have in the gallery, she will bravely tell her story and this man should, should go away for a long time. As we do this golf tournament this week, think about her and the other brave children in Denton County who we serve. Thank you for what you do for them!!!
