Attorney Roberts Moderating and Presenting an NJICLE GunLaws Program
Although the majority of court cases are now virtual, there are some situations where an in-person court session is necessary. This week, while wearing a mask from 8:30am-4pm, we were able to win at trial and have our client's restraining order dismissed. Now the client can return to work and continue on with life. We will do whatever it takes to get results for our clients, even during the covid-19 pandemic!

Covid has slowed things down but we are still fighting hard for clients and still love the positive reviews we get!
“During a very difficult and challenging time, I was lucky enough to be referred to Mr Roberts as a Rutgers student. In a stressful situation Mr Roberts stood by me when no one else did. He went above and beyond on my case and I could not be more thankful. He helped getting property back as well as getting a substantially favorable deal than we possibly could have gotten. Mr Roberts was always in communication and did anything in his power to relay information that was essential. He left no questions or concerns unanswered. I definitely recommend him, especially for Rutgers students in need for his efforts made a great deal of a difference and for that I am forever grateful.”
Let us show deference and respect today to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. #MemorialDay
Whether we are in court arguing motions while wearing masks or appearing virtually, our fight never stops. We have had great success with case results during the pandemic. See below
- Marijuana possession charges for two clients in Hoboken dismisses.
- Trial wins for two clients on restraining order matters out of Union County and Somerset County.
- 2nd degree felony money laundering & attempt to possess a controlled dangerous substance charges dismissed for our client out of Somerset County.
- Shoplifting charge dismissed for our client out of North Brunswick Municipal Court.
- Successfully argued for our client’s release from detention in Gloucester County.
- Reached a favorable plea for a client who was facing 19 traffic tickets totaling 32 license points from one incident. Left court with 5 points on his license and no suspension.
- Argued successfully in Somerset County that our client should not lose their license after a speeding incident with a high rate of speed over 100mph.
- Successfully argued to have our client released from probation early out of Essex County.
Beginning in January of 2021, New Jersey citizens will be able to purchase and use regulated marijuana legally. While the new law is a progressive step, it raises many questions about how current cases involving the substance will be handled. Check out our blog to read more:

Welcome to City of New Brunswick, New jersey
A drop off today from another happy client. Thank you so much! It was a pleasure winning your case!
Big win yesterday in Somerset County. For two years we have been fighting for our client's 2nd Amendment rights. On appeal the court agreed there was no lawful basis to deny our client's application for a Firearms Purchaser Identification Card. In these uncertain times, the need for protection is greater than ever!
What a great email to receive on the first of the month!
“Dear Mr. Roberts,
If only I knew the words to express my gratitude for you besides “Thank you so so so very much.”
Friends are quiet angels who lift us on our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. Thank you so much for your selfless act of kindness!! Thank you for your courageous acts to save my family from falling apart!
Happy holidays to you and your family and thanks for giving your love and care to others around you!”
In back to back detention hearings in Somerset County and Essex County involving charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, we were successful in both cases in getting our clients released. Our clients can now return to their families for the holidays.
Another successful appeal from a gun permit denial in Somerset County. With all that is going in the country, exercising your second amendment rights has never been more important.
On this day in 2013 we opened the firm! It’s been a wild ride for the past 8 years but we wouldn’t want it any other way. Thank you to our clients for trusting in us - we look forward to serving the community for years to come!
Happy Friday everyone, laugh a little!

Attorney Michael B. Roberts has been fighting vigorously for clients in Somerset and Passaic counties this week. Originally charged with possession with a firearm, possession of hollow point bullets, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, our client was entered into the Pre-Trial Intervention program for a period of 12 months. After that time, all charges will be dismissed against the client. Mr. Roberts was able to obtain a similar result with another client who was an out-of-state resident and gun owner charged with possessing a firearm in New Jersey without a license. The charges will also be dismissed at the completion of the PTI program. Great results for people facing very serious charges.
