By now, most Americans are at least partially aware of the role played by Purdue Pharma in the genesis of the current opioid epidemic. In 1996, Purdue Pharma marketed their blockbuster wonder drug OxyContin (OC) as a non-addictive pain killer. Their marketing was so wildly successful that it led to a wholesale change in the treatment of pain.

Renowned addiction researcher Dr. Bruce Alexander believes we are experiencing a paradigm shift in the world of recovery. That shift, however, is very uneven – Western Europe is much farther along than we are in this respect. The reasons for this have much to do with the ways our health care system shapes the culture of the treatment industry.

Entering into a drug and rehab center means you will be focusing on yourself and overcoming your addiction. There are many programs out there in various formats. However, a gender-specific rehab may be one of the best decisions you can make for yourself for several key reasons.

Great event this past Friday! Thank you to everyone who came out and showed support. A special thank you to RRTC’s Director of Program Development Piers Kaniuka.
Outpatient care sounds simple. You go to treatment. You go home. Yet, many other components go with it. There are also several addiction program options available to you. Not everyone who has an addiction needs residential treatment. Yet, you need to have access to the right type of outpatient addiction treatment program.

At Rockland Recovery we believe that the opposite of addiction is connection. This means that recovery is necessarily relational – that lasting healing must involve the client’s family and friends.
Family members are often at a loss when dealing an addict or alcoholic in early recovery. They have many questions about how to best support, and not enable, their loved one. At Rockland Recovery we believe it is imperative that these questions be answered in a timely fashion. Therefore, we have scheduled a weekly meeting for family members and close friends. Our hope is this meeting will become the basis of an extended community of alumni and their families. We can accomplish much more together than we could ever do by ourselves. Please join our weekly discussion.
As our meeting will begin outside, we ask if possible to bring a folding chair of your own! If not, we will have chairs to provide.
**This meeting is open to the public, however is not affiliated with AA, and closed to addicts/alcoholics.**

Carl Jung believed that alcoholism was borne of a desire for transcendence, or “thirst for wholeness.” In almost every case, addiction involves a powerful desire to escape or transcend the conditions in which the addict finds himself.

Starting today, February 1, 2021, Rockland Recovery will now offer Evening IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)!
What is an Evening Intensive Outpatient Program? Typically, an evening intensive outpatient program requires patients to participate several hours a day, multiple days per week. The majority of this time is spent in group therapy, with other activities—such as individual therapy, meditation and mindfulness instruction, acupuncture, or massage—scheduled at regular intervals.
One of the key benefits of an evening intensive outpatient program is flexibility. Not only is it less time-consuming and rigidly-scheduled as in-patient treatment, but it also provides a great deal of support and treatment while affording patients the ability to work, live at home, and begin to re-enter their normal lives.
Reach out to us today by calling (508) 245-0575
