DR Strauss Message
Ideally dental supervision of any child by the family dentist should begin at age one. It is specially important that cavities in the primary teeth be taken care of in order to prevent premature loss of this teeth.
The primary teeth, properly maintained, form holding pillars to help make certain that the jaws develop properly and that the permanent teeth which replace the primary teeth can take their place in proper position in the mouth. In other words , the primary teeth definitely influence eruption patterns and the final position of the permanent teeth.
Prevention of malocclusion (improper positioning of teeth ) is the major goal of modern dentistry. Early detection of a developing problem is extremely important to the success of future dental health.
If you have any other questions, or if I can be further help, please don't hesitate to call me.
Sincerely

P.S. our patients are seen form year one through their teenage years....
