•The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound and the United Way of Thurston County have established a Thurston County COVID-19 Response Fund.
•They are now accepting requests from Thurston County residents for assistance with rent, utilities, child care, and other basic needs, call 360.438.1100 or 1.800.878.5235 between Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Oututside of Thurston or King Counties, there is a dedicated line for help. Just dial 2-1-1. This is run by United Way International.

At 11 a.m., Feb. 25, we are joining U.S. Geological Survey in a test of the #ShakeAlert Earthquake Early Warning system on smart phones in King, Pierce & Thurston counties. ▶️ This is a test YOU can OPT into. ◀️
The test is being done the same month as the 20th anniversary of the 6.8 Nisqually earthquake back in 2001. The Wireless Emergency Alert test is a run-up to our launch in late May of the ShakeAlert Earthquake Early Warning system in Washington state in cooperation with Pacific Northwest Seismic Network & USGS.
