Fall Festival and Corn Maze starts this weekend and runs through Halloween. Weekdays from 3:30 to closing at 9 and Saturdays from 10:30 to closing.

The festivities start at 9:00 am and go until 6:00 pm this Friday, Saturday, and Monday (Labor Day).

Apple season is here, making it time for our annual Red Barn Apple U-Pick. We are excited to have you in the apple orchard enjoying one of life’s greatest pleasures...fresh picked apples! 🍎 We will be open for pick-your-own apples starting this upcoming Saturday, August 29, from 10 am - 6 pm, and every Friday and Saturday in September from 10 am - 6 pm.
As mentioned above, this first weekend we will be picking Honeycrisp apples. The Honeycrisp variety has fast become one of our very most popular with it’s snappy-crisp texture and sweet tangy flavor.
And as in years past we will also be featuring our delicious apple cider donuts.

Prepare to be a-maze-d! Well shucks, forgive us for sounding corny. But this year's corn maze at @rowleysredbarn is the cream of the crop. Choose between easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels, depending on how cornfident you're feeling. You'll be up to your ears in fun!
Too far to drive for a great fall treat is no longer an excuse. We will have our fresh apple cider donuts available at @thescoopdrivethru tomorrow.
This year, our petting zoo features some irresistibly cute baby animals, including piglets, lambs, goat kids, a calf, and chickens. They love to be fed by hand and scratched behind the ears. Don't forget to stop by and say hello to them while you're in the Back Forty! They might even pose for a picture or two.

It's Thanksgiving week! Last week we tested out a recipe we weren't too sure about, but the results were surprisingly good! Using our pineapples ($1) and jumbo yams ($0.89/lb), we whipped up this pineapple sweet potato casserole. The pineapple adds a subtle tang and natural sweetness, which allowed us to cut down on added sugar. Don't knock it till you try it!
Add 1/2 cup chopped fresh pineapple (or blended for a smoother texture) to your favorite sweet potato casserole recipe and cut the sugar down by a quarter to a half. Or try out our recipe below:
6 lbs yams (3 jumbo yams)
1/2 cup brown sugar
5 Tbsp melted butter
1 tsp salt
1-1/2 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice
3 eggs
1/2 cup fresh pineapple (chopped or blended)
2 cups mini marshmallows
1-1/2 cups chopped pecans (optional)
1. Cook the yams by peeling, cutting into large pieces, and boiling until soft. Drain the water and mash (for a coarser texture) or blend with the pineapple (for a smoother texture).
2. Add all the ingredients except the marshmallows and pecans to the yam mixture. Spread in a 9x13 pan.
3. Bake at 350C for 30-35 minutes. Top with marshmallows and optional pecans, and broil in oven for 1-2 minutes (watch closely to prevent burning!)
