Hameed Dosunmu, MD, FACP, is a highly skilled, board-certified internal medicine physician and founder of Royal Suntomed Medical Group in San Antonio. He’s dedicated to caring for his patients’ individual health needs using custom treatment plans to address a variety of conditions. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Dosunmu is also an active member of the American Medical Association, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and Bexar County Medical Society. He’s also an honorary commander at Randolph Air Force Base in Randolph, Texas.
Prior to starting his own private practice, Dr. Dosunmu served patients as a primary care physician at various hospitals throughout the state of Texas, most recently at South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio and Kerrville, Texas. He also performed clinical research on chronic health conditions like hypertension and diabetes in New York City and New Orleans.
Dr. Dosunmu graduated with his medical degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and later finished an internship at Lagos Island General Hospital, also in Nigeria. After moving to the United States, Dr. Dosunmu completed an internship and residency in primary care internal medicine at North General Hospital in New York City, where he also earned the Most Outstanding Intern distinction.
As an experienced primary care physician, Dr. Dosunmu diagnoses and treats a variety of acute and chronic health conditions, including pneumonia, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. He also specializes in chronic disease prevention, offering comprehensive annual physicals and in-office health screenings. When not working, Dr. Dosunmu volunteers his time and medical skills, participating in health fairs and traveling on medical missions, including visits to rural southwest Nigeria.
