Dr. Rushi Parikh is an interventional and advanced heart failure cardiologist who practices in Westwood. He uses invasive evaluation and treatment methods to prevent and manage coronary artery disease, heart failure, and structural heart disease. Specifically, he performs coronary angiography, complex angioplasty/stenting, minimally invasive treatment of aortic valve disease (TAVR), and implantation of remote pressure monitoring devices such as CardioMEMS.
Dr. Parikh earned his medical degree from New York University. He then completed his internal medicine residency and advanced heart failure training at the University of California, San Francisco, which he followed with fellowships in general and interventional cardiology at Stanford University. He is originally from Michigan, and completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University.
Dr. Parikh is actively involved in clinical research and has published several peer-reviewed papers in prestigious medical journals. He is currently the lead investigator of an American Heart Association-sponsored study looking at the mechanisms of coronary artery disease in heart transplant recipients. He is also a co-investigator on a number of clinical trials, including COLHEART-19, which is evaluating the impact of the anti-inflammatory drug Colchicine on outcomes in patients with COVID-19 related cardiac injury.
