ABOUT DR. TAYLOR
Ryan Taylor, MD, MPH, is extensively experienced and trained in orthopedic surgery, especially reconstructive procedures for elbows and shoulders. At his private practice, Ryan Taylor, MD, with an office in Orem and two in Lehi, Utah, Dr. Taylor uses the latest technologies to evaluate and treat a variety of painful conditions, including fractures, joint disease, and soft tissue tears.
Dr. Taylor’s interest in medicine started at a young age and he realized his passion for orthopedics during his time as a Division I football player for Utah State University and the University of Utah. He was inspired to work with athletes and others who need long-term solutions for acute injuries and chronic diseases.
Earning an undergraduate degree in public health from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, Dr. Taylor when on to complete a master’s degree in public health and finish his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. He finished his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Davis, near Sacramento, California, and pursued two fellowships, one in sports medicine at Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, California, and one in complex shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery at California Pacific Orthopaedics in San Francisco.
Dr. Taylor is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
At his practice, Dr. Taylor focuses on helping patients return to their usual activities and gain back a high quality of life despite an injury or chronic disease. He customizes surgical care to focus on individual needs and involve minimally invasive techniques to promote quick recovery.
When Dr. Taylor isn’t serving his patients, he enjoys family time with his wife and their four children. They are often outdoors, skiing, running, hiking, cycling, and fishing, or assisting in their church and the local community. Dr. Taylor also loves traveling and following his favorite sports teams.
