Welcome to a new segment of our Facebook page called “Ryan’s Reflections” (inspired by Deep thoughts with Jack Handy)
Reflections #1:
I was back in Minnesota last week and among other things, I got to visit my old State Farm office I first began working at (Chris Ahles Agency). This is where it all began for me at State Farm. And I’m forever grateful to Jim Rickard to introducing me to Chris Ahles and grabbing lunch 11 years ago. Being back there brought back a lot of memories of late night calling, late night meetings, old friendships great customers, and great co-workers.
The most memorable tips I received at this job (and for life really) were as follows:
1.) Be willing to dig the ditches so that you can prepare the foundation for something great.
2.) Nothing good comes easy, and if it comes easy, it’s probably not that good.
I gave this shovel to my old boss 6 years ago as a token of my appreciation and also a symbol for the opportunity he gave me. Forever grateful for my mentor and coach, Chris Ahles. Thank you.
For all those future Chris Ahles employees trying to be the next future State Farm Agent,…it’s worth it. Put in the time, put in the work, take great care in helping others, be a team player to your office colleagues, and go above and beyond the regular call of duty.
Training 101: When the boys mastered insurance but they have yet to master how to change the toilet paper.. It's never a dull day here at the office.

My name is Brenna. You can find me at the front desk of our office ready to help out with any questions and of course I will always offer a cup of expertly brewed coffee. When I am not working at this office I love to spend my free time doing anything creative such as photography, painting, and drawing. Before working at Ryan's office I lived in the city and I studied at Columbia College Chicago with a major in graphic design.

My name is Brooke. I have worked for State Farm for 8 years. Initially, I started at the corporate office in Bloomington, where I'm originally from. I graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign so I love all things Illini. I love to read and be outside. Going on walks with my 6 month old son is one of my favorite things to do when I'm not reading him Harry Potter or trying to make him laugh.
We all wanted to wish Ryan a happy birthday!!
Crushing the competition and my bones..
I got a fun surprise in my office this morning from one of my employees. Can you spot it? It’s subtle, yet not subtle...
At this time of the year we all take time to reflect on what we appreciate most during this holiday season.
Please share with us what makes this holiday season so great for you. We thank you for choosing to be a part of our State Farm family.
From our team here at the office we are wishing Dom and Samantha a huge congratulations for the arrival of their first child. We wish them the best on this new and exciting adventure.
